About Scott Meacham

Scott Meacham is the 17th State Treasurer of Oklahoma. He was appointed by Governor Brad Henry on June 1, 2005 to fill the unexpired term of Robert Butkin who resigned to take a position in higher education.

Prior to becoming treasurer, Meacham, 43, served as Governor Henry’s Director of State Finance. He continues to serve on the governor’s cabinet as Secretary for Revenue and Finance.

Following the lead of Robert Butkin, the Treasurer’s Office under Meacham operates with integrity and efficiency. Shortly after taking office, Meacham directed modernization of the treasurer’s investment portfolio to greatly increase earnings while maintaining the same high level of safety of the investment portfolio.

During Fiscal Year 2006, Meacham’s investments generated $98.3 million for the taxpayers of Oklahoma – more than twice the earnings from the prior year.
